Behaviour Therapy
Understanding Behaviour, Nurturing Growth
At Daffodils Child Development Centre, we help children develop emotional regulation, communication, adaptive skills, and positive ways to respond to everyday challenges through personalised, evidence-informed Behaviour Therapy.Rather than focusing only on changing behaviour, we work to understand what may be contributing to it and teach skills that support the child’s wellbeing, independence, and participation.

We support children experiencing:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD
- Frequent emotional distress or difficulty with self-regulation
- Aggression, self-injury, or other behaviours that affect safety and daily life
- Impulsivity and difficulty managing everyday expectations
- Communication or developmental difficulties that contribute to challenging situations
- Difficulties adjusting to changes, transitions, or new environments
Our Behaviour Therapy Approach
We begin by understanding your child’s strengths, needs, communication, and environment. Where appropriate, a Functional Behaviour Assessment (FBA) helps identify patterns, possible triggers, and the factors that may be maintaining a behaviour.
Based on these findings, we develop an individualised plan that may include:
- Proactive environmental and routine adjustments
- Teaching functional communication and alternative skills
- Positive reinforcement and opportunities to practise new skills
- Emotional regulation and coping strategies
- Parent coaching and ongoing review of progress
Our approach prioritises the child’s dignity, safety, communication, and quality of life.
Partnering with Parents
We work closely with families to develop practical, consistent strategies that fit everyday routines. Where appropriate, we also collaborate with schools and other professionals to support children across settings.
Let’s Understand and Grow Together
With the right understanding and support, children can develop new skills, navigate challenges, and participate more comfortably in everyday life.
Together, let’s help your child build skills, confidence, and greater independence.
